PERSONAL REFLECTION REPORT

  1. How do you feel about doing this project?

Certainly this project have been very challenging to me because I don’t really have much interest in drawing and designing. But at the same time it was something new and fun to learn as I got to learn about adobe Photoshop and adobe flash. I learned something new which could benefit me in the future. So now I know how to create posters, banners, logos and many more and also how to create a simple animation. All this while, I was always curious to know how to create this things but I didn’t have the knowledge at that time and of course I was slightly lazy to learn by myself. Since now this is a subject that I need to learn, so no matter what I have to take the courage to learn and now it benefits me.

  1. How was the interaction of the group? Why?

The interaction with my group was fine. We always interact with each other to know where our progress are. We also divided the tasks evenly among us so there won’t be any misunderstanding later on as if who did less work and who did more work. We also helped each other when we had problems designing, or coming up with ideas for the artworks or the worst of all was creating the animation.

  1. What were the problems faced by the group and how did your group solve them?

The problems faced by our group at first was to get ideas for our design. We wanted to keep the design simple yet creative and to make the designs simple and creative at the same time is certainly not easy. It is always easy when you draft it on a paper where when drafting you tend to include so many things in the design but when it comes to the designing part that is the challenging part when you need to draw or edit and that’s when you removed certain parts from what we have draft.

Second problem was time management. All of us had exams almost every week and assignments to complete. We struggled to manage our time to do the designs especially the animation as creating animation just for one scene takes a lot of time. We solved them by discussing with each other all the time through online. We did a lot of research online and watched a lot of videos to create the animation.

  1. How would you rate your performance in this project and in this group?

In the scale of 1 to 10, I would rate myself maybe 6 because there still a lot more things that I could give to my group or to this project but due to the time restriction and not forgetting all the assignments and exams at certain point I had to do what I can afford to do.

  1. What are the differences of this learning environment compared to your other classroom learning environment?

Classroom environment is more to learn what the syllabus has fix for you. So we like it or not we still have to learn it. And class environment is more to theory part where we only the understand what it is about but we won’t apply it much later on. But this learning environment is different as you get to learn more stuffs than what you actually learn in class and it is something interesting and challenging. For example, when using adobe Photoshop we actually can learn more than what we learned during lab classes or when using adobe flash, we learned that there are so many ways to create just a simple stickman.

  1. Would you prefer this type of learning for all your other courses? Why?

Yes, I would prefer this kind of learning for maybe certain courses but not all. Because certain courses need more guidance from the lecturer for example programming courses.

  1. How important was it to collaborate with others? Why?

It is very important to collaborate with each other as we can learn new insights and ideas because everyone has different opinions and ideas especially when it comes to designing. Some people tend to be more creative. Not only that it can also help us to improve in our teamwork because we are communicating with people and can also improve our leadership skills and our behavior in working with groups because some people might tend to be comfortable with working individually than with group.
